I am a high school student. I love marching band. Trucks are my thing, but I might like a mustang or two. I play video games. Shooting guns is really fun. From the country, not the city. My backyard is a field. My truck's name is Martin. I write because writing is one of my passions. I play piano, marimba and clarinet. I can mess around on the drums, but percussion is definitely best. I love to laugh. My personality can make you laugh if I want you to. I am a Christian. I am Kara.

Citizenship; what is it? What does
it mean? And what does it mean to be a citizen of the United States of America?
What is a naturalized citizen, and should they be given the same opportunities
and privileges as a native born American citizen? What is my point-of-view of
it all?
What does citizenship mean?
Citizenship means being a citizen in a place with rights, opportunities,
privileges, and duties. Citizenship is not all about the rights, opportunities,
privileges, and duties you get though. Citizenship is about being a citizen of
a country, state, county, or even down to city or town and being loyal to that
certain place you are in. You vow your life to loyalty of that place. You won’t
turn your back on them; you will support them no matter what, even if you do
not agree. And when I say “them” I mean the place you are in. The place you
have vowed your loyalty to and the place you are a citizen of.
What does it mean to me to be a
citizen of the United States of America? Let’s just start with citizen. Well,
like I said in the last paragraph, it means being loyal to the place you reside
in. Being a citizen is also being involved in what is going on around you
whether it is in your community, town, state, or country. Being a citizen of
somewhere is not necessarily just a term for the place you live in, it is more
than that. If the term citizen only meant that you lived in a certain area,
anyone could call themselves a citizen of that place. Now what does it mean to
me to be called a citizen of the United States of America. Well, it means
everything I have already said. But it also means being free, having a choice
in life. Being a citizen of the United States means being able to have a part
of what is going on, being able to have a say in who the president is, or what
laws we want or do not want. Also being a citizen means being able to be a
leader of this country we call the United States of America. And being a leader
does not necessarily mean being the president or even being in office at all.
Not even necessarily being a governor of a state, or a mayor of a town. Having
the opportunity to be a leader could be a police officer. Being a leader
doesn’t exclude governor, mayor, president, senate, or any other office
position. Being in the armed forces is being a leader. Im not saying that in
order to be a citizen of the United States you have to be a leader, but you
have the privilege to run for the big
office jobs, and you have every right to learn to be a police officer, military
sergeant, or any other type of job you would like to participate in. Being a
citizen means you have rights. Being a citizen means you are loyal and
committed to the United States.
What is a naturalized citizen, and
should they be given the same opportunities and privileges as a native born
American citizen? Well I can assume that we all know what a native born
American citizen is. A native born citizen means that you were born a citizen.
A naturalized citizen means that you came from another country but have moved
to the United States and gone through all the legal details to legally become a
citizen of the United States of America. I personally do not believe that a
naturalized citizen should have equal rights such as opportunities and
privileges as an American born citizen. I think they should be equal up until
we get to the part in running for office and being in office. President and
Vice President should be ruled out. You never know if they are really true to
this country or not. Also, I think the majority of us know that the President
doesn’t rule on his own. He has got to have the senates on his side to be able
to do certain things. So I also do not think that they should be able to be a senate.
As far as all the other jobs under president and senate, I do not see a problem
with them being any of those. If they want to be governor, it is up to that state
to know their background and decide if they want a native born citizen or naturalized
citizen running their state. Same goes for mayor. But I do think that they should
have the chance to be at least governor if that are that loyal and want to be involved
in their new country.
So now you know what I think what citizenship
means, what a citizen is, what a American born citizen is, what a naturalized citizen
is, and how I feel about opportunities of a naturalized citizen. This is only one
opinion. Everyone is entitled to their own. I guess now it’s up to you to decide
what you feel.

Legend of the Continents (Story For Online History Class)
**This is the story in my last post that I said I would post from my online history class that I wrote.**
Long ago, there were Viking gods that decided to have a little war of their own. Of course there is more than one god, but the goddesses, except Sif, wanted Thor. They fought over him and Freya just knew she was going to get him because she was the goddess of love, sexuality, beauty, fertility, and what could attract a man to a woman more, war. The other two didn’t think that just because she was the goddess over all that that she would win him over because one the two of them could be prettier than her to him. Idun knew he would choose her too; she was the goddess of his favorite fruit, apples. She is also the goddess of youth, she could stay as young as he wanted her to just for him. Hel knew she had something over the other two goddesses; she was the goddess of death. All Hel had to do was tell her daddy, Loki, to tell Thor either marries my daughter or he would say the magic words so that he would die which are “go to Hel”. The god Odin wanted to be with Freya; to him she was the most beautiful woman he had ever laid eyes on. Frey wanted to be with Idun because she could keep him young forever. Thor, Freya, Sif, Idun, Hel, Odin, and Frey all stood on seven different parts of the earth. Freya, Idun, Hel, Odin, and Frey all fought each other. Freya, Idun and Hel all fighting over Thor, and Odin, and Frey fighting with the two they want to be with them. This war between the gods and goddesses lasted seven years, the seven years’ war. Finally the goddesses brought Thor into the mix, they asked him to choose a woman to be his wife, and he refused. They fought him too. Now while there are only six fighting, Sif all by herself has some thinking’s of her own. Suddenly the earth cracks into seven different pieces; it separated every god and goddess that was arguing. Sif said to all of them, “Now look at what you've done! You all should be ashamed of yourselves, now we can’t even do work that needs to be done for our people! Why did you drag Thor into this mess anyway? If he wanted you he would've told you by now don’t you think! You fools! And to you men, don’t you think if those girls wanted to be either you, they would be, I mean they obviously don’t, they are fighting for Thor!” Thor said, “Thank you Sif, you have saved me, and now I do have my decision.” Everyone waited in anticipation. “I choose a woman that has been patient and not forceful towards me, not fought with the rest of you, she only stood up for me, if Sif will have me, which I think she will because that’s what a real woman in love would do is to wait for me, I would love for her to be my wife.” Thor said. Sif took his offer to be his wife. Now Freya was very mad and she had in mind another destruction of earth for another man, but that’s a different story.

Fighting the Battle of What I Want To Do With My Life, Fighting For My Dreams
For so long I just knew what I wanted to do with my life. I thought I had it all figured out, exactly what I wanted to do. Then I had a change of heart, and even that has changed, and now I am in a contradiction with myself.
I used to want to be a lawyer, and I was going to go to UNC Chapel Hill. That lasted for so long. I changed my mind on being a lawyer, I even shot out the thought of going to UNC. I realized I wanted to go to that college because that was the team I liked. There's no doubt about it, I do love UNC Tar Heels, they are my by far my favorite team, but I wasn't looking for the best college suited for what I wanted to do, or went along with my faith, or the type of vicinity I wanted around me. I started looking at other colleges, and I found one, one that I truly wanted to go to that checked off everything on my list. Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia. That's where I want to go, and even though I changed my mind a second time after the lawyer idea, there was no way anyone could talk me out of going to this college, this is where my heart is set to go, this is where I feel God has led me to go.
So the second idea I had was being a History Professor, just because I love history, but I came to terms that wasn't going to work out. I had no problem with teaching, or history, it was the road I had to go down to get there. So that was crossed off my list.
Now for my contradiction. I love to write, and most people don't know I write, and that I write all the time, unless you read this blog. Then you probably think that I hardly write at all. Well, I do like to blog, but most of my writing that I like to do does not come from writing about my own life, it comes from writing about what my life could be like. It's not fake, it's more like realistic-fiction. It hasn't happened to me, but it could happen to anyone. I kind of put my dreams, fantasy's, imagination all in to a book. I have written a couple, but at this point in time, I would never let a single soul read any of them. They may be written, but they are not edited. They need a lot of modifications for someone to read them. I worked on one for about two years. The one I am working on now has been going on since summer 2013. So I really like to write. I have another love, and most of you who know me might be thinking I am about to say music, and truth be told I have written a couple of songs, but I guess it's more of my escape, music is my love, but if I make it my profession, I don't think that it will be my therapy anymore because I would be doing it everyday, but I guess I am not 100% ruling it out. But anyway, my other idea is Interior Design. I love to decorated, rearrange, anything dealing with home decor I love! I have the game Sims 3, most people play with the Sims, I build/decorate their home. If it's a "dump" I make it as elegant as can be. I love hands-on, making a place come alive. If I had the money, I would redecorate my parent's house. I could make it look ten times better than it does. Not that they don't have a nice looking house, it's just I could take it so much further! I pin so many home ideas on Pinterest that I would like in my home, or to do to someone else's. I love Interior Design!
So that's my contradiction. It is so hard in choosing one. So I am seriously thinking of double-majoring. Interior design as the main profession, but writing on the side in my free time. I can write and publish as they get finished. That way I can do both of my loves.
All my previous English teachers are probably saying she shouldn't write, but that's because (and yes I admit it) I didn't really give it my all. It was because it wasn't my topic, and it wasn't my style. Even a free-write isn't the same, because there is just a line you do not cross in school. But I promise I have more potential. I wrote a story in thirty minutes for a history class as an assignment and my teacher said that I had the best story out of anyone, and that I should seriously think about making my writing public and make it a profession. She didn't even know me, she was my online teacher. I have had a couple other people that I have shared writing with say I should make it a profession, but I didn't really start thinking seriously about it until this past school year (10th grade).
I have big dreams for myself, and I am not saying that any will come true, but I have been put down enough to have lots of motivation to push myself as far as I want to go. (Not talking about anyone in my family) I have been called dumb, I was told I was not smart enough to go to Liberty University (LU). I would never make it in my dreams. I should just go to a community college and then maybe I would get into East Carolina University (ECU). I have news for that person..ECU is not everything, it is not the best college out there, and a lot of people go there. It is easier to get in there than LU, UNC, NCSU, and that is just not the path I want to take. I don't want to be everyone else from here. I want to be my own person, I want to be Kara. Everyone else is already taken. And just because you think you are the best thing doesn't mean you are. Someone once told me, "You can make your dreams happen if you work for them, it may not be easy, and it may be a long road. But if you give in to what everyone else is doing, and not fight for your dreams, your dreams will not come true. If you fight you have a chance. If you fight it's gonna be hard for people to say no but for so long, because if you fight, they know you mean it. Work for your dreams, make them reality, don't let them be dreams forever. Fly." That is what I plan to do. I am not letting that one person put me down any longer. She can say what she wants, but that's only gonna make me push harder. It's my dream not hers.
With that, I really think I may double major. Maybe that's where my dreams begin.
**I am going to post the story I wrote for my online history class next.**

New Year: 2014
We have just entered a new year of our lives. For some, it's a fresh start, that should be in a way for all of us. Leaving our burdens, hard times we faced, bad times, sad times. We should leave all that in 2013 and begin making new memories in 2014. If we held on to all the times I just mentioned, we wouldn't have enough room to remember all the good times that could happen in 2014.
In 2014 I have a big goal for myself that could possibly reduce all the burdens, hard times, bad times, sad times that may come. I know it's gonna seem like "you're just doing this because someone famous said she did it", but I am not. I liked what she had to say at Liberty Winterfest 2013, and everything that the pastors/speakers had to say went hand in hand in a fashion with what she had to say. It was Sadie Robertson from Duck Dynasty. She said "You have to be more confident in yourself. Being confident and not caring what others think allows you to have more fun. Live care free." (that may not have been her exact words, but it was pretty close.) I guess that is my new years resolution. **Believing I can do anything I set my mind to, and not caring what others think.**
If you need help releasing the past, a good influence is looking to the Bible. If you trust in it, you can just open it, but your finger somewhere, and read from it and it usually has something to help you push forward.
I had an influential thing too, John Luke, also from Duck Dynasty, said he took his Bible everywhere with him, and it was a great reminder to be Christ like. He said it is hard to get mad at a crazy driver when you have the Bible in the passenger seat.
*I also give props to Clayton King, he gave a good message the first night that sticks with me more than the second. It would take forever to write the story, but you may find a video of it on Liberty University's Winterfest site or on YouTube.
I say we all should be more confident in ourselves, that doesn't have to be your New Years Resolution, but I think if we were all a little more confident in ourselves, the world would work more smooth.
